I came across this video that I wanted to share with you guys. In it, NAACP Image Award winner ReShonda Tate Billingsley tells the crowd how she calls bookstores, upon a new release, in order to get her books in their store.
Authors, in order to get your name out there and/or your shelf space for your books…YOU have to put in a little elbow grease.
Also, utilize the people around you. Get them to make the calls as well, request your titles in the local library, set up book signings, etc.
It doesn’t just take a village to raise a child. It also takes a village to create a buzz about a book.
